Virtual Reality is the new hype word these days with companies like Meta marketing it like crazy. So during my Master's, I and my thesis partner Chris decided to calculate the impact of User Experience for Interviews that are conducted on the software MeetinVR compared to our daily Zoom & Microsoft Teams. To study the impact on user experience, we made a list of tasks to be carried out by the participants. Furthermore, the participants answered a questionnaire that bifurcated into 6 domains Useful, Usable, Desirable, Findable, Accessible, and Credible.
We were looking to find answers to the following research questions: 1. How is the user experience of interviews in VR different compared to Interviews in online video conferencing software? 2. How is the candidate’s user experience while using VR technology to answer interviews compared to Online Video Conferencing Software? 3. How is the interviewer’s user experience while using VR technology to answer interviews compared to Online Video Conferencing Software?
A sampling of participants and coming up with the questionnaire to base our models on was a challenge. It was challenging to code interviews from the obtained transcript and make the analysis accordingly. It was also a challenge coming up with the survey understanding the impact of UX on Interviewers and Candidates.
We have successfully made a model to compare the User Experience between VR and Online Video Conferencing Software like Zoom and MS Teams
Currently the thesis is still going on, learning outcomes are on their way to conclusion by 25th May
